Other agents, briefly

A short field guide to other agents

Lolobuy is one of many Chinese shopping agents doing roughly the same job. This page is a short, general orientation to the landscape — not a comparison table or a recommendation, since this site's catalogue and reasoning are built specifically around Lolobuy.

What the agent landscape looks like

Shopping agents generally fall into two groups: longer-running platforms with years of public track record and large user bases, and newer entrants — Lolobuy among them — competing mainly on fee structure, warehouse location, or a specific feature like a free estimator or a particular shipping line. Neither group is inherently more trustworthy; the judgement calls on the choosing page apply regardless of how long a platform has existed.

Agents also differ in which marketplaces they can pull listings from — some cover Taobao and Tmall only, others add Weidian storefronts and 1688 wholesale listings, which matters if the specific seller you found is not on a marketplace your preferred agent supports. Lolobuy covers all three, with a separate help-centre guide specifically for 1688 wholesale purchases, where minimum order quantities and seller tiers behave differently from a single-item storefront listing.

Interface language is a smaller but real factor if English is not your first language: Lolobuy's account area currently switches between eight languages, Chinese and English among them, with most of continental Europe's major languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish) filling out the rest — wider coverage than some competing agents manage. It does not change what you pay or how the order process works, but it can make the difference between reading a policy page directly and relying on a translation.

Four checks before adding a second agent

  • Does it reach the marketplace your item is actually on? Not every agent pulls from every storefront type.
  • What is the warehouse location, and does it change your domestic shipping cost? Sellers closer to an agent's warehouse generally ship to it faster and cheaper.
  • Does its fee land in the item price, a separate service fee, or both? A 0% headline service fee and a 5% headline fee are not directly comparable if one bundles payment processing and the other does not — read the fine print on both sides.
  • How does its QC photo policy compare? Photo count, turnaround time, and whether extra photos are free all vary agent to agent.

None of this is an argument for or against Lolobuy specifically — see why Lolobuy for what sets it apart and where it may not be the better fit for a given order.
